BACKGROUND
The purpose of GMR is to promote and provide the highest caliber of employee benefit services and human resource support to business owners. Our primary focus is to enhance our clients’ profitability by offering benefit programs, payroll services, tax-advantaged programs, third-party administration and ongoing consulting.
Employee benefits, human resource functions and resulting employer “tasks” are costly, time consuming and complex. Most employers purchase benefits without comprehensive information about the insurer, the coverages and/or the administrative requirements. After the “sale,” employers generally find themselves alone in a sea of “alphabet soup:” COBRA, FMLA, ADA, QDRO, ERISA, HMO, PPO, MSA, FSA, HIPAA and HR all represent regulations and functions that use more employer resources with every day that passes. Some of these actually expose the employer to risk. Some require software and systems too costly for many employers to develop. Large companies have learned to outsource many or all of these functions to increase profitability. GMR provides clients with a single source of benefit and administrative services that allows business owners to increase profitability and focus on their core business interests.
GMR was founded in 1991 and formed to design, implement, administer and service employee benefits plans. It has since expanded to include several alliance member companies, each with its own specialty such as payroll processing, pension administration and coalition for purchasing health benefits. GMR specializes in the development, placement and servicing of very successful, association-endorsed benefit programs designed to meet the specific needs of the building and construction industry.
Through the efforts of a dedicated operations unit, staffed with a knowledgeable team of benefits consultants, information specialists, account managers and compliance personnel, GMR prides itself on attention to detail and conscientious service.
In maintaining human resource policies and employee benefits, businesses face challenges including rising health care costs, changing laws and liabilities, personnel issues, and employee recruitment and retention. Employers rely on GMR for benefit and HR information, compliance assistance, program review and development and outsourcing support.
